ICON HIP HOP
2022
The mOTN was Honoured to host the ICON HIP HOP rap
freestyle cyphers. A free, open mic, rap cypher that
focuses on a classic hip hop sound.
Run by dj, producer, event coordinator ‘Ghettofab’, the
Cyphers are recorded weekly in their entirety and put
on youtube as a Historical record of the hip hop
movement in vancouver taking place now.

After the fire that Devastated the mOTN and the
residence living above it, Jamieson, Icon, and The
ice cream truck partnered together for a free outdoor
show in victory square as a fundraiser for the
residence effected. What followed was an incredible
show, including performances from artists who had all
played at the MOTN and a special live open mic from
Icon, as well raising a ton of funds and donations.
We raised a total of 889$ cash, and a large amount of
clothing, non perishable foods and toiletries.
Everything was donated to Raincity housing at 707
Powell st.
